Bio

A multi-instrumentalist and songwriter from a young age, Bo traveled and lived all over the country before returning to Austin TX in 2014 to pursue a life of songwriting and creation.

After getting his feet wet jamming and gigging with local acts, he studied audio engineering and music production at Austin Community College. He built his songwriting and studio chops, eventually landing a sideman gig in Austin Texas Psych/Rock hero Curtis Roush's Cosmic Campfire band. After 2 years of touring, festival shows and growing as a player, he began writing and releasing original music.

A break in live shows during 2020 and much of 2021 prompted constant writing, studio experimentation, and a connection to new sounds and genres.

Bo now plays his Americana-tinged Singer/Songwriter material around town in both his solo act, and in his Bluegrass/classical fusion collaboration with guitarist/singer Chris Melas (Bo & Chris).

Additionally, a love of traditional bluegrass music led to a weekly Wednesday Bluegrass residency in East Austin. The Bo Tyler Bluegrass band will play their first Festival Gig at Farmgrass Fest 2022 on Oct 22nd.
